Local Non-Profit Sponsor!

It’s #femalefilmmakerfriday and we’re excited to announce that we have an additional fiscal sponsor – a local Houston non-profit Fresh Arts. I have been so grateful to From the Heart Productions and continue to fundraise through them as well, but it’s been important to me to have a local non-profit supporter since much of the focus of this film is in the 100% local crew, the nearly 100% local cast and the people that aren’t local, guess what? they’re either originally from Houston or Texas in general!

In the years since my divorce, since deciding NOT to move back to Los Angeles, I staked a claim on being a “regional” filmmaker. It’s been extrememly important to support our community in all ways that I can. We have a wealth of talent and people are doing amazing things. We don’t often know about each other, and I’m part of a group of people trying to change that, trying to bring us more together, trying to put a national spotlight on what we’re doing locally. And the only way we can do that is by putting together quality projects that get seen. Our short film Acid Test has done amazingly well on that national level in showcasing what a great group of Houston filmmakers can do and I’m hoping we’ll do just as well, if not better, with the feature film! Haven’t seen it yet? It’s streaming on Seed&Spark here!

So please join us with a tax-deductible donation supporting local filmmaking and local artists!

Thank you!!!
